Paediatric Orthopaedics Unit

Our paediatric orthopaedic unit provides comprehensive care in the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of musculoskeletal conditions in children, including congenital, acquired and traumatic diseases. Activities include clinical and imaging evaluation to identify bone deformities, fractures, or pathologies such as scoliosis, clubfoot or hip dysplasia. Corrective surgical interventions and minimally invasive procedures are performed to improve patients’ functionality and quality of life.

Staff at the Unit

Dra. Raquel Rocha Afonso

Dr. Rocha is a specialist in paediatric orthopaedic surgery trained at the Braga Hospital in Portugal and with several national and international training stays at the Hospital of recognised prestige.

Dr. Rocha is also a specialist in the technique of paediatric hip ultrasound through the Graf method, and throughout her training, she has participated in nearly 2,000 surgical procedures, many of them on paediatric patients.

She currently combines her work at our centre with her position as a specialist in paediatric orthopaedics at the Hospital Materno Infantil San Joan de Déu in Barcelona.
