We are pleased to announce that Dr. Federico Yáñez, member of the Samitier Sports Traumatology team, has been appointed Head Physician of the American football team Firenze Red Lions, a new franchise in the American Football League Europe (AFLE).
This agreement represents a significant milestone in the international projection of our organization, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in medical care for professional athletes.
Dr. Yáñez will lead the medical care of the team’s players, who will have access to specialized evaluation and treatment at our facilities. In cases requiring surgical intervention, players will be transferred to Barcelona, where they will receive highly specialized care under the highest medical standards.
Coordination between the club, the hospital and Samitier Sports will ensure efficient and aligned management, focused on delivering comprehensive, personalized, and high-quality care.
The AFLE season will begin on May 23 and run through September 6, marking the start of this new collaborative phase.
